Hell’s Gate National Park is a beautiful safari destination covering about 68 square kilometers in south of Lake Naivasha. It was established in 1984 and got its name from a narrow break in the cliffs which was once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that served the early inhabitants in the rift valley. Regardless of the small size of the park, it boasts a variety of wildlife and a lovely scenery.

There is a variety of wildlife in Hell’s Gate. It is home to gazelles, elands, zebras, klipspringer antelopes, hartebeests, buffalos, servals, reedbuck and predators such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas and leopards.
The park records more than 103 species of birds including augur buzzard, secretary bird, swifts, vultures, Verreaux’s eagles and weaver birds.

Game drives: game driving around the park in the morning and evening offers a chance to see many of the large mammals. Commonly seen animals during game drives include zebras, buffaloes, elands, servals, klipspringer and gazelles. Predators like lions and leopards can also be sighted.
