Amboseli national park is located in Kajiado County in the south of Kenya. It covers an area of 392 sq.km. it was established in 1974 to protect the rich ecosystem that it shares with the northern parts of Tanzania. Formerly called “Maasai Amboseli Game Reserve”, the name Amboseli is got from a local word that translates as “Salty dust”. Amboseli national park is a great place to see large herds of elephants.
